Formerly known as the Korakuen Amusement Park, Tokyo Dome City has continued its heritage of urban amusement ride, even while expanding to include the 43-floor Tokyo Dome Hotel and the LaQua shopping Mall and health spa. Over twenty attractions range from Korakuen traditionals such as the 60-meter-plus Skyflower parachute ride to the new Thunder Dolphin roller coaster, which twists its way through an opening at the top of the LaQua shopping Mall. Tokyo Dome City divides the attractions into three groups:LaQua, Parachute Land, and Tower land. The Tokyo Dome Baseball Stadium is also within Tokyo Dome City. Professional baseball has been played here and its predecessor, Korakuen stadium, since 1937. The amusement park dates back to 1995.
