Ueno Zoo was the first zoo in Japan. The monorail at Ueno Zoo was also the first one in Japan and is 57 years old.It connects the east and west side of the zoo.There are more than 400 species here, which is the largest number of any zoo in Japan. A couple of pandas were donated to the zoo by the Chinese government as a symbol of the friendship between China and Japan.
